Scarlet Pimpernel

Hello there crafters, todays little card is made with another one of Lisa's stamps.  I wanted to do the stamp justice so used it as the focal point of the card.  Again it is a very quick and easy card due to the fact I still work full time and have very limited time to craft at the moment, however, I hope my little creations inspire and encourage your crafting ideas.

Here are the elements:

I used a 7x7 white card and mat and layered it using some coordination's card stock.  I decided to emboss the white card with a new folder I bought recently.  I stamped Lisa's Pimpernel Collage on Super Smooth Card using Versamark and a Red Sparkle Embossing Powder I've had in my stash since I started crafting about 12 years ago now, I think it's the first time I've actually used it.

I thought the image was enough and set itself off so decided not to colour it in, so I just used the Spun Sugar Distress Ink to enhance it.    I matted the image with the same colour card before mounting it all together

Then simply got some seam binding and tied in a triple bow and finished it off with a Aurora dazzler.

 Thanks for dropping by
Love Jan -x-

Negative Stamping with my Botanical Collage Stamps....

Morning all,
Better late than never I suppose!
I apologise for being a day late with this post but I am still trying to fight off this cold and throat virus and believe me.......it is hanging on for dear life!!!
I was so busy sorting stuff out yesterday that I completely forgot to do my post, so naughty me!
So........Today I thought that I would show you how by using mainly the negative single stamps out of my New Stamp Sets that you can achieve similar results to tapestry stamping but on a larger scale.
I used Versacolor Ink Pads in various colours, just randomly stamping and because they are lovely pigment based pads I was able to emboss them so I used Wow Sparkle Powder to add a little bling to the cards.
Using the Pimpernel set.......

The black ink that I used is Versafine Black Onyx......

I used the Imagination Crafts Honeycomb Stencil ( a favourite of mine ) to add some texture in to the backgrounds of some of them......

Using the Poppy set.......

 Using the Clematis set......

It is great to stamp some extra flowers and cut them out leaving a white border to 3d on to the cards

Using the Rose set.......

Well I think you will agree that they make fantastic Spring and Summer cards and show a totally different way of using my new stamps.

Well that is all from e for now, I have to head back in to the studio getting ready for next weeks class.

Have a great week and I will be back next week....

Big hugs

Pimpernel & Honeycomb

Good morning, happy Monday & happy bank holiday Monday, if it's a holiday where you are. As I write this on Sunday night, the weather doesn't look being all that great for us in Kent, so I hope you have lots of sunshine today. I made a card to show you today, using the Pimpernel Elements stamp set, the Honeycomb stencil & the stencil paints, all from Imagination Crafts.........

I applied the paints - Mallow, Rose, Bluebell, Vanillla - through the stencil with a
domed stencil brush, onto white Super Smooth card, using small amounts of paint & working them into the brush first by swirling it on my craft mat.

Then I stamped the Pimpernel, the greeting & the bubbles stamps from the Poppy Collage set on top with Onyx Black Versafine.

I added a few gold sequins from my stash for a little bit of bling.

Thanks for looking & don't forget, our current blog challenge is all about the Botanical Collage collection. There's plenty of time left to enter, you can find all the details HERE.

The June class - Sweet Poppy stencils & dimensional pastes - is fast approaching & there are a few places left on the July workshop - Inka Gold metallic paints. If you're interested in attending either, please email Lisa asap for details - lisabaker1@btinternet.com

Have a great week, see you next time.

Ring a Roses

 Good Morning folks,

Today I want to show you some simple pattern building.
I used some Linen card from my stash, Watercolour card would also work well.
I lightly penciled araound a 12cm circle die.

Then using the larger single leaf from the stamp set I stamped using Versafine Black Onyx.
I stamped the leaves around the circle lining them up as I went.
If you turn your card while you stamp it makes this process easier.

So I used this with a Aqua-flo Water Brush to colour the leaves, you only need a very small amount.

Next I stamped the smaller outline Rose and painted with the Mallow Stencil Paint.
I then cut the Roses out and shaped them.
Using mini mounting pads I then spaced the roses around the leaf circle
and stamped the sentiment in the center.
Finally I mounted onto black card.

Hope this inspires you to try some pattern building.
Thanks for reading today.
Have a lovely weekend.

Floral Collage Collection.....

Good morning all,
Apologies for the later hour of this post, only I am feeling a little under the weather at the moment and went to bed early last night and forgot to do the blog post for this morning. I have had a tickly throat for a few days and been sneezing and thought I had a touch of hay fever but it has turned out to be cold and very sore throat!!!
Still never mind onwards and upwards as they say, there are a lot more worst off than me!
Today I thought I would show you a couple of samples made with the Floral Collage's from my new collection of stamps. Just to see how differently you can use them again and give you a little explanation of how I achieved it with each one of them.....
The first one is the Poppy Collage
As I have explained in previous posts, you get positive and negative images in all the sets as you can see from the set above but I just used the positive image for this card.
I die cut a white circle of Super Smooth Card and then stamped and embossed the main focal collage image on to the circle using Versafine Black Onyx and Clear Wow Powder. Then using the separate full poppy and side poppy head positive stamps, I stamped the full head two times and the side head three times on to some bright red card and embossed them again. I did the same with three of each of the leaf stamps on to green card. Then using Diamond Sparkle Medium and a stencil brush I stippled it over just the poppy images. When it was dry I cut them out as well as the leaves.
I then attached them all on to the main stamped image, mat and layered some black and red card and attached it on to my card base. To finish off I added some Red Stickles to the stamped bubbles.......

This second one is Pimpernel Collage......

Again as before you have your positive and negative images but I just used the positive again for this card. I decided I wanted to use a stencil in the background and then take that stencil image over on to my card. I used a favourite stencil of mine which is Imagination Crafts Grunge Elements, I love the mix of patterns on this stencil and use it for so many different things....

Using Bluebell Stencil Paint and a stencil brush I added a light coverage through the stencil on to a piece of super smooth card on the top right and bottom left corners.
I then stamped and embossed the main image in the same way as the first card on to the stencilled square. Using a paint brush and Bluebell and Lime Green Stencil Paint I coloured the images of the flowers and leaves. I wanted one raise one layer, so I stamped the largest separate positive flower stamp on to a scrap of white card and embossed it and then coloured it in too with the Bluebell Stencil paint and cut it out. I used a small stencil brush to add Diamond Sparkle Medium to the flowers again. I attached the single flower to the largest flower on the collage and then added a black matted layer to the square to make the image pop. For the card I repeated the Stencil paint and stencil as I did on the square card and continued the design on two corners as shown.
I then attached it to the card and finished off with some Platinum Stickles in the centre of the flowers and buds.......

I hope that you have enjoyed reading about the two creations, have a great week and I will be back soon,

Big hugs
Lisa B xxx
