Lavinia Stamps & Brusho Heart

Good morning, how are we at the end of August already?? I hope you've had a great summer. This MDF heart is my final Lavinia Stamps & Brusho project....................

I stamped the Creative Expressions Crackle stamp onto watercolour card with clear embossing ink & heat embossed with white embossing powder. Then I painted that piece with Lemon & Turquoise Brusho, blending the colours slightly to get a hint of green in places & another piece with Rose Red Brusho.........

I glued the larger piece to the heart & trimmed it to fit, then stamped on the Lavinia Stamps Bubbles with a blue permanent ink.............

I stamped the Spotty Toadstools onto the piece of red card with Versamark ink & heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I cut them out & glued them to the heart.

I edged the heart with Cobalt Blue Inka Gold & added a scrap of ribbon from my stash.................

Lavinia Mirror

Hello crafters, hope you're all well.

Sorry it's a quick post this week, I've been away on business for a couple of days.

So I took one of the lovely wooden mirrors (they don't seem to be on the website at the moment) and masked the mirror section with tape.  Then painted the wood with  white Gesso.  It didn't take very long to dry but I did use my heat gun to help it along.

I then made myself a couple of hills and valleys by tearing paper and used the brayer to spread some light blue acrylic paint ensuring it was dry after each coat.  As you can see the colour graduates up and lightens.  I then took one of the Creative Expressions Smoothies to dab on some Stonewash distress ink to darken the edges of the frame.

I used the following Lavinia stamps and Versafine and stamped my images.

*Sorry these aren't on the website at the moment

I then stamped some of the images again using the stonewash distress ink, (other distress inks are available on the website).

I then decided it needed a little bit of sparkle so added the Stripped Silver Sparkle on the inside of the mirror.  (Really sorry folks but I can't remember the name of this lovely embellishment I only know we used it a lot at Christmas, here's how it comes)

More sparkle was added to the fairy wings using Stickles Diamond.

Well that's it sorry not many photos I didn't think you would need those as you're all experienced stampers :o)

Here's a couple of close ups and the Mirror again.

Thank you for dropping by again.  See you soon

Using up the waste with Brushos and Lavinia Stamps......

Good Morning Peeps,

How are we all today? Fed up with the wet stuff yet?
We have certainly had a lot in Kent in the last few days!

Well today is a quick little post, following on from the my last one I thought that I would show you what I did with the waste circle that I cut away from one of the class card pictured below that I featured in my post last week. If you missed it then its HERE and you can see how I created the circle with Brushos........

Sticking with a similar theme of these naughty little fairies throwing around paint splats I thought that I would create a background first so I took an Imagination Crafts Hexagons stencil and added some Hickory Smoke Distress Ink through it with a Blending Tool to add some texture to the background of a piece of white super smooth card, I also edged the square lightly with it too.

I then laid on my circle that I had die cut away from the previous card and then decided what I wanted to use. I chose and stamped the Lavinia Stamps Spotty Toadstools using Onyx Black Versafine Ink on to a piece of Watercolour Card and then embossed them with Wow Clear Embosing Powder. Then I made a watercolour wash with my Brusho crystals using Lime and Yellow and painted the toadstools in to match my die cut circle. When dry I cut them out.......

After laying out the pieces on the card, I decided I wanted to add two fairies, some bubbles and splats. So I attached the circle and mushrooms using Cosmic Shimmer Glue. Then I added some Lavinia Stamp Bubbles which I painted in with the brushos wash that I had left, I added two fairies from Lavinia Stamps Three Small Fairies stamp and some splats from IndigoBlu Ink Splats.
Lastly I added some Glossy Accents to the bubbles......

I really enjoyed making this card from the left over circle and I just love the Spotty Toadstools  and find any excuse to use them ;0) .......

I hope that you have enjoyed the inspiration and I will be back soon with more......

Big hugs
Lisa B xx

Silhouette House Pods & Brusho

Good morning, I hope you all had a fun weekend. Here's a close-up of my Lavinia Stamps & Brusho card for today.............

This is the only 'before' photo I remembered to take.....

I sprinkled a few colours of Brusho - Lime Green, Turquoise, Rose Red & Orange - onto a blending mat & applied them to watercolour card with baby wipes. This is a really easy to get the colours to blend just where you want them...........

I stamped the Lavinia Bubbles with Onyx Black Versafine & painted them with yellow Brusho.

I stamped the Silhouette House Pods with red Versacolor ink & heat set with cleat embossing powder, then stamped & heat embossed them again onto white Super Smooth card before cutting out just the pods & gluing them on with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear glue..........

I finished the card with a quote from the Stampendous 'Life Words' set.
